all 10 releases + brand new dpk11!! dapayk solo is a studio workaholic and he strikes a blow for vinyl. in 2009 he started his very own vinyl only series called dpk, next to his well established labels mo s ferry, fenou and rrygular. the idea was to present vinyl in striking colours as a special format for his liveset tracks and beloved edits by artists such as format:b, super flu, sascha braemer and jon hester. it s a feast for the eyes and the ears all in one. now, four years later and after reaching #10 of the series, dapayk decided to compile all tracks in a collectors box. in addition to the previously released records he also included the brand new dpk #11 with a remix by aka aka. this big bundle contains 23 tracks and ranges from minimalistic to funfair tunes and also some edgy b-sides.

what do you do when a live project exceeds its own ambitions? just keep doing the wonderful concerts and eventually head to the studio. sounds simple and conclusive. in the case of karocel, that was exactly how they went about it and surprisingly, all six band members made it happen. though the four marbert rocels, mathias kaden and michael-mitchi-nagler have known each other from their hometown along the gera-jena-erfurt corridor, and the karocel live shows have been well received: an album is an entirely different beast.

ok, first of all i want to reveal a myth: these infotexts are mostly writtenby the labelowners themselves, not by hard-working editors. so what happens, when the guy behind a label releases his own music? well, either he is a well-organised deadline-machine and he asks somebody capable of doing this stupid job, or he realizes:

this ep marks a newbeginning in my career. since some time now, >the fog burns off< and we get more and more stable in the buisness. last year we were on the road quite a bit and we found many new friends. people from other cities, who believe in the same things, who do similar stuff and who are of the same kidney as we are. so that makes me very happy, which reflects in the music. for the first time i feel like coming home, although we are at the beginning of our journey into the industry yet.

house of black lanterns is the brand new project from dylan richards, formerly known as king cannibal (ninja tune) and zilla (warp). retaining the earlier influence of dj krusts sprawling drum & bass soundscapes, house of black lanterns sees richards develop his sound to incorporate the dub-inflected techno textures of rhythm & sound whilst nodding to the catchy, yet occasionally bleak floorfillers of trax, all inspired by the modern noir visual style of michael mann.

total control dislocate expectations with this inaugural home loan records 12 inch. not the charged up paranoid vox/guitar/drums combo that we have become accustomed to through their visceral live shows - instead men with machines producing pensive proto-tech experiments and tense industrial wave. includes the original version of carpet rash which was re-recorded in full band mode for henge beat, and two previously unreleased immersive rhythm tracks formed through collaboration between guitarist mikey young and drummer james vinciguerra. vinciguerra would fire deranged beats down the hole while young would jam over them, watching waves in a trance from his perch at phillip island. on the flip we find two reconstructions from home loan manager michael ozone. carpet rash receives the club re-contextualisation with ozone fully utilising its penetrating synth hook, while new age hop climbs the arabic scale.

this is sadly the last in the holger czukay remix series from claremont 56. limited to 555 with 277 pressed on orange vinyl and 278 on yellow. the first recordings of perfect world were made in the inner space studio in weilerswist (1984) together with can members jaki liebezeit and michael karoli joined by sheldon ancel. here is the new remix version by the man himself and on the b side we have the version of photosong recorded live at the roundhouse and the original version of hit hit flop flop.
